Each year millions of dollars are spend on coating systems that fail due to inadequate surface preparation or improper installation. The most substantial cost of a coating is not the product itself, but the cost associated with the surface preparation and application of the system, Marberchip meticulous step by step installation process ensures high performances results.

Surface preparation

1. The concrete surface is abraded to remove contaminants and create a rough profile for maximum bond to the coating. This is the best done using shot blasting, diamond grinding, or power sanding.

2. All cracks and holes are patched and grinded as needed.

Basecoat & Aggregate Application

3. The pigmented base epoxy coat is spread using a squeegee and back rolled for even thickness.

4. While the base coat is still wet, the vinyl flake or quartz aggregate is broadcast into the basecoat allow to dry.

5. The excess aggregate is scraped and vacuumed off.

6. Marberchip receives a second basecoat and additional broadcast of chips aggregate prior to the topcoat application.

Topcoat Application

7. A topcoat of UV resistant epoxy, urethene, or polyrea is spread using a squeegee and back rolled of an even thickness.

8. with some systems a second topcoat is applied for longevity and maximum durability.

9. If desired, two to three coats topcoat are applied for a smooth surface.
